This racist video by a group of Arab rappers is more hurtful than despicable, considering the near obsessive pro-Arab climate inside Pakistan.

However, what is worse than the hateful video are the messages posted by some Pakistanis who have viewed this garbage.

One of the first to react had this to say:

“Some ugly Hindu uploaded this video”

Another Pakistani demonstrates his own racism when he writes:

“Some Arab bitch working for a Hindu...”

Even when reality stares us in our face, Pakistanis have an incredible yearning to seek out a conspiracy theory to explain the obvious. Invariably, it is a Hindu, a Jew or an American  who is involved or responsible for our woes. In this case the ‘bad guys’ are not the Arab rappers who made the hate video, but the imaginary ‘Hindu’ who uploaded it on on YouTube.

I am just hoping some day some Arab friends of mine will start an anti-racist group that exposes the ubiquitous racism against Black and Brown people that passes off with little if any criticism inside the Arab world.
